Is Bhang A Drug?
Bhang is the least effective form of cannabis. Despite this, it is categorized as a drug. It does not contain the flowering tops that are present in ganja and, therefore, only has a small amount of resin.
Bhang has been recognized for legal use in the USA since 1998. In that year, Washington and Colorado voted to decriminalize the drug.
Even though Bhang is still categorized as a drug as per the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, it is legal in India. It varies from state to state. Uttar Pradesh allows commercial cultivation of hemp but the state law of Assam prohibits the consumption and possession of Bhang.
